Grundig Business Systems takes design honours for second year

London, February 2008 – Grundig Business Systems, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of professional dictation solutions, has been awarded the prestigious iF Product Design Award for the second year running. The DigtaSonic Mic desktop dictation microphone scooped top honours with its tall, elegant casing, smooth, velvet-like “Soft Touch Composite” finish and highly intuitive operation. It was selected by the 26 judges from over 2500 entries.

Through its awards, the iF International Product Design organisation looks to raise awareness of good design through the creation of a competitive platform for companies. Criteria include design quality, materials, degree of innovation, environmental awareness, functionality, ergonomics, handling and branding. All products awarded the iF product design award will be presented at the CeBIT 2008 Fair in Hannover during the iF awards ceremony.

The DigtaSonic Mic is designed for professional users of desktop dictation. The wide, ergonomic slide switch makes for effortless dictation, with a more positive slide action bringing more precision. “Mouse Control” gives the user control of his PC software without needing a PC mouse - file processing is controlled via Track-Point instead. The device also supports the DSSPro language standard, providing optimum recording and playback quality.
